Danish Country
is excited to have moved to our new Annex location in the historic Old
Stone Barn at
44 Oak Street in Newton Upper Falls.
Danish
Country,
located on Charles Street in Beacon Hill since 1984, is one of Boston's leaders
in fine Scandinavian and Chinese antiques. We are now pleased to announce the
opening of our new Danish Country Annex
located in the historic Old Stone Barn in Newton. This showroom will be by
appointment only. Call (617) 227-1804 to browse privately at your
convenience and pleasure.
New Shipment
We are also very excited to present our new shipment to coincide with this
opening. You will still find a wonderful selection of our antique Danish,
Swedish, and Chinese pieces, as well as our new focus of authentic
Danish Mid-Century Modern
furniture. The elegance and simplicity of these sleek designs reveal an
interpretation of traditional forms, while reflecting the revolutionary and
modernizing changes in design and production of that era.
Come in or log on to see the real thing.

Danish Country Antique Furniture
Danish Country Antiques has been selected for the 2012 Boston Award in the Antique Stores category by the Boston Award Program.
“The Swedish and Danish pieces at this Beacon Hill shop tend to be smaller, lighter, and more modern in spirit than much of the 19th century stuff you find elsewhere…. It’s refreshing to find the real thing.”

"The present focus on the home and its interior design from various
points of view is due to the recognition of the home as the metaphor for
identity, containing memories of family, childhood, and the past, but
also the starting point for the future and its dreams."
- Mirjam Gelfer-Jorgensen

Sweden in Springtime |
At Danish Country, we understand the importance of your home.
For close to 30 years, we have handpicked the best Swedish and Danish
antiques to fill your home with character, beauty, a touch of what was,
and a nod to what will be. Inspired by both the necessity and simplicity
of the countryside, and the craftsmanship and style of skilled artisans,
our antiques are not just distinct in their beauty, they are meant for
everyday use. Antiques are the original “green” furnishings - authentic,
rich in history, and environmentally responsible as they are recycled
through families over generations. From the bedroom armoire to the
dinner table, from your child's desk to her favorite stool, our pieces
have withstood the test of time. Our antiques - with their unique
fusion of style, functionality, and warmth - will make your house a
home.
Come see us at Danish Country on Charles Street in Beacon Hill, or make
an appointment at our new location, Danish Country Annex, in the Old
Stone Barn at 44 Oak Street in Newton Upper Falls.
Our in-store inventory is available online; if you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to call, send an email, or stop by.
All the best,
Danish Country and Civilization
A Beacon Hill landmark since 1984, Danish Country has
become synonymous with authenticity, quality and effortless beauty. Our
furniture has graced the front page of House Beautiful Magazine and the lobby of
the Ritz Carlton; they have highlighted collections of Newbury Street's
Burberry's, Bang and Olufsen, and Tiffany's, as well as added exquisite grace to
countless homes throughout the country.
A discerning eye and passion for authenticity have made Danish Country one of
Boston's most reputable antique dealers. After almost 30 years in the business,
owner Jim Kilroy continues to travel to Scandinavia to handpick every piece.
Danish Country Antiques is now even more accessible through our online
catalogue, which is always up to date with the newest additions to our inventory
of striking Danish, Swedish, and Asian Antiques. You can come into our Beacon
Hill or Newton Upper Falls locations, or should you choose to peruse our
hand-picked pieces online, we’d be happy to answer any questions you may have
over the phone or by email, seven days a week. We are sure that our Gustavian,
Mora Clocks, Antique Pine, Biedermeier, Painted Swedish, and Lacquered Chinese,
and now our Danish Mid-Century Modern pieces will find a perfect spot in
your home. We hope you enjoy browsing Boston’s finest selection of Scandinavian
antiques and modern furniture. We hope to see you soon.
